Gooey Cinnamon Biscuits from Two Peas and Their Pod
Two Peas and Their Pod really hit the spot when they each listed their favorites. One of my favorites is on their list also: Cinnamon Baked French Toast. I will be trying their Biscoff Oatmeal Cookies and Gooey Cinnamon Biscuits.
5 Minute Fancy Frosting from Katrina's Kitchen
Also from Katrina's Kitchen. Love the photography and graphics!

Homemade Hostess Cupcakes on What Megan's Making
Cookie Dough Truffles from What Megan's Making
Although this didn't make Megan's list of top 10, I still plan on trying this one: Chocolate Peppermint Cupcakes, YUM! And sooo cute!
Another favorite blogger is Recipe Girl! Her Best Recipes of 2011 is fabulous! Where to begin??? Since we are talking about the sweet side of treats I would recommend her Red Velvet Cheesecake Cake, Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll Pancakes (really, for breakfast?), Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies, and Gooey Chocolate Chip Sandwich Bars. Yummmmy!

Last, but not least, (I do have to publish this sometime) is the wonderful site Cupcakes Take the Cake and their top 10 for 2011! Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes (I can't wait for St. Patrick's Day!), Starlight Mint Cupcakes, and Cadbury Cream Cupcakes!
Cadbury Cream Cupcakes from Cupcakes Take the Cake
Each of these blogs have way too many wonderful ideas to present them all and my suggestion is that you check out their lists yourself. After all, my prejudices often get in the way of what I present (you know; no coconut, lots of peanut butter and chocolate, etc...). Also, many of these blogs have fantastic everyday food ideas like Root Beer Pulled Pork Sandwiches and Cajun Turkey Pot Pies.
If you read this blog you have already pinky promised me a comment. Now get to work (I sound like a teacher don't I?)! Let me know what Best of 2011 blogs you have enjoyed, which of these recipes you will try and pros/cons about the ones you have tried. We can all learn together that way!
Wow, this is quite a collection of wonderful sweets and treats blogs. I already want to make the Cadbury Cream Cupcakes from Cupcakes Take the Cake, for Easter; the Gooey Cinnamon Biscuits from Two Peas and Their Pod, on a Sunday morning; the Cookie Dough Truffles from What Megan's Making, to send to my daughter’s for her birthday in May; the Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes from Cupcakes Take the Cake, as I am half Irish, and I love Guinness and St. Patrick’s Day; and the 5 Minute Fancy Frosting from Katrina's Kitchen so I can practice and hopefully improve my cake decorating skills. I am not even close to you, Kitty, you “take the cake” when it comes to making your beautiful cakes look professionally decorated!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Two Peas & Their Pod and have made numerous treats from there- the best one {that they did not even list n their best of, I don't think??} are their soft gingersnap cookies with white chocolate chunks, and their butterfinger cookies {which I pull a "Debbie" on and ALWAYS substitute in some crunched up pretzels!} but yes, they are keepers for sure!
ReplyDeleteAnd i had never seen those cookie dough truffles, but Megan has now sucked me in!!!
Thanks for sharing :o)
